Garza Leaves BCR for California Post

Rosario Garza

Rosario Garza, assistant director for Member services and longtime BCR employee, has left the Bibliographical Center for Research after more than 22 years to become manager of the Metropolitan Cooperative Library System in Pasadena, California. MCLS is a cooperative of 32 public libraries in Los Angeles County that provides training, reference databases and various other services to member libraries.

Garza joined BCR in 1984 as a trainer specializing in cataloging and what was then the OCLC Cataloging system. She was promoted to manager of BCR's Bibliographic Systems & Services program in January 1994 and to assistant director of Member Services in the summer of 2002.

"Working at BCR has been an honor and privilege," Garza said on her departure. "I've met so many wonderful staff throughout our member libraries. I especially have enjoyed working with the BCR staff - a more dedicated group will be hard to find anywhere else."
