DuPage Teleconferences Continue February 3,
Free Satellite Downlink and Webcasts Provided

The College of DuPage live satellite teleconference broadcasts will continue Friday, February 3, with the second "Soaring to Excellence" program, "Always a River, Sometimes a Library: Rick Anderson Reexamines Library Practice and Patron Service." The program will be broadcast from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. (Eastern time).

BCR, 10 of our member state libraries and CLiC (Colorado Library Consortium) have purchased an unlimited-site license for this teleconference and three others this spring. This provides downlinking of the satellite coordinates and/or webcasts of the programs at no charge to BCR member libraries. To register, complete BCR's online form at www.bcr.org/training/teleconferences/register.html.

The webcast will be archived by the College of DuPage several days following the broadcast. It will be available to view on request. Contact BCR's Sharon Hoffhines (shoffhin@bcr.org) to request the instructions for viewing the archived program. (The availability of the archived webcast of the November 18 "Google and Your Patrons" teleconference has been extended to 90 days - February 18. Again, contact Sharon Hoffhines to request access to the program.)

Three additional teleconferences will be broadcast this spring. They are:

  • "Soaring to Excellence Serving Immigrant Populations: A Library Prototype for Diversity," April 7
  • "Library Challenges & Opportunities Library Management Hot Topics: A Roundtable Discussion with Experienced Library Managers," March 10
  • "Library Challenges & Opportunities Google Print: Its Impact on Scholarship and Libraries," April 28
