Candidates Named for BCR Elections

The BCR Nominating Committee 2006, chaired by Trustee Sandra Barstow, has developed slates of candidates for both the BCR Board of Trustees and OCLC Members Council delegate elections this spring. The BCR Board of Trustees adopted both slates at its February 17 meeting.

Three candidates are competing for the single position open in the BCR OCLC Members Council delegate election. Other candidates are running for four positions on the BCR Board of Trustees.

Information about the BCR OCLC Members Council delegate election can be found on BCR's Web site at www.bcr.org/about/mc/mcelect.html. Designated voters for BCR's OCLC governing members will receive e-mail messages with instructions on how to cast their ballots in mid-March. The deadline for voting in this election is April 28.

The single delegate seat will be filled by one of the following candidates:

  • Scott Walter, University of Kansas (Lawrence, Kansas)
  • Jane Howell, Montana State University (Billings, Montana)
  • Claudia Frazer, Drake University (Des Moines, Iowa)

Information about BCR's other election to fill seats on the Board of Trustees is found on the Web site at www.bcr.org/about/board/botelect.html. Voting in this election begins in early April, and the deadline for submitting Board of Trustees ballots is May 5. Seats on the Board of Trustees are up for election in the following categories:

  • Doris Wisher, Touro University-Nevada (Henderson, Nevada)
  • Lori Goetsch, Kansas State University (Manhattan, Kansas)
Research Libraries Trustee
  • Nancy Allen, University of Denver (Denver, Colorado)
  • Debra Ludwig, University of Kansas (Lawrence, Kansas)
At-large Trustees
  • Gwen Alexander, Wichita State University (Wichita, Kansas)
