BCR Offers Discounts on Training to Cover All Staff Needs

Do you have staff who want to learn the latest Microsoft Office software? Does your staff need an introduction to or brush up on business skills? Perhaps you've just assigned a staff member to be editor of the library newsletter and she needs to become familiar with graphics and editing software. Or with all the technology advancements that are happening in libraries today, you many have staff that need some intense technical training.

Through BCR's new partnership with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, BCR member libraries have access to New Horizons' in-person and online training - and at discount prices.

New Horizons offers classes in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access to help staff learn the latest Microsoft Office products. Business skill classes in accounting, business writing and making effective presentations are scheduled. Your newsletter editor can find classes on InDesign and Publisher software. And a plethora of technical training is available: JavaScript, various Cisco classes, Linux+ certification, Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft Exchange and more.

BCR has always been The source member libraries turn to in order to ensure their staff keep up-to-date on library-related training. And now BCR can be The source for other types of training for your staff.

Discounts are available to BCR member libraries for both in-person and online training offered by New Horizons. In-person training is available at New Horizons Computer Training Centers located throughout the country, including Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. See www.newhorizons.com/content/siteCountry.aspx?country=USA for a nearby location.

In-person training coupons are priced at a savings of approximately 20 percent:

  • $188 per coupon for application coupons for desktop applications courses such as Microsoft Office and graphics and Web courses. (One coupon covers one-day's class.)
  • $320 per coupon for technical training coupons. (Most technical training is three days, so three coupons would be required for one technical class.)

Online courses are available at a 15 percent discount. Prices for online courses vary from $170 to $3,000. Two options exist for online training - Online LIVE courses with live expert instruction and Online ANYTIME training with courses available to access anytime, day or night.
