Election Update: Members COuncil Vote Underway, Board of Trustees Balloting Begins

BCR OCLC members have begun casting their ballots for one of three candidates running for BCR's open delegate position this year on OCLC Members Council. Voting in the BCR Board of Trustees election is scheduled to begin on April 2.

E-mail messages with a direct link to the online ballots are being sent to member libraries' designated voters. The three people vying for the BCR OCLC Members Council delegate seat are:

  • Dr. Lorraine Haricombe, University of Kansas (Lawrence, Kansas)
  • Sheryl Taylor, Dordt College (Sioux Center, Iowa)
  • Doris Wisher, Touro University Nevada (Henderson, Nevada)

Vitae and position statements for each candidate are available on BCR's Web site at www.bcr.org/elections/mc/ mcelect.html and on the ballot. Designated voters also will find a link to the ballot from BCR's Web site, along with a list of member libraries and the names of their designated voters and the libraries' respective OCLC symbols. Ballots will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Friday, April 27.

Board of Trustees Balloting
BCR will send out e-mail messages April 2 with a link to the appropriate ballot (according to the type of library) for the Board of Trustees election. Voting will run through 5 p.m. on May 4. As in the BCR OCLC Members Council election, vitae and position statements for the various candidates are available on the ballot and BCR's Web site at www.bcr.org/elections/board/ botelect.html. BCR members will be voting to fill four trustee seats:

School and Processing Centers Trustee (one position open)

  • Gail Anderson, Mountlake Terrace High School (Edmonds, Washington)
  • Mark Ferguson, Cherry Creek School District (Englewood, Colorado)
  • Nancy White, Academy School District 20 (Colorado Springs, Colorado)

Special Libraries Trustee (one position open)

  • Ann Marie Clark, Arnold Library, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Seattle, Washington)
  • Kris Haglund, Bailey Library & Archives, Denver Museum of Nature & Science (Denver, Colorado)
  • Susan Ferrer-Vinent, Denver Art Museum Library (Denver, Colorado)

At-large Trustees (two positions open)

  • Barry Neil Brown, Mansfield Library, University of Montana (Missoula, Montana)
  • Greg Cotton, Cole Library, Cornell College (Mount Vernon, Iowa)
  • Kate Gordon, Consortium Library, University of Alaska Anchorage (Anchorage, Alaska)
  • Rod Henshaw, Cowles Library, Drake University (Des Moines, Iowa)
  • Susan Holmes Hill, Brigham City Library (Brigham City, Utah)
