Wayne J. Peay, director of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library, was inducted into the American College of Medical Informatics at AMIC's 2006 annual symposium. Election to the membership of the college of fellows recognizes "significant and sustained contributions to the field of biomedical and health informatics."
Kevin Booe took over the director's seat at the Boise (Idaho) Public Library on March 1. He had served as interim director since November 2006.
Montana libraries saw the appointment of several new directors this winter. Bonnie Allen was appointed dean of libraries at the University of Montana and Bill Kehler the director of the Paul Adams Memorial Library at Rocky Mountain College. At the Ronan City Library, Michelle Fenger has taken over as director.
The Colorado State Library has named a number of new staff this winter. James M. Duncan was named director of Networking & Resource Sharing; Teresa Allen was appointed a consultant with Institutional Library Services; and Nicolle Steffen was appointed the new director of Library Research Service (LRS).
Dorothy Kelley has been appointed acting director of the Des Moines (Iowa) Public Library, replacing Kay Runge who has retired.
Karen Keller was named the new director of the Anchorage Municipal Library. She had been serving as acting director since July 2006.
