Training and Educational Services

In FY 2002-2003 BCR trainers and guest instructors taught 242 workshops and seminars (including 63 Web-based sessions) at 39 locations in 13 states. BCR sponsored or hosted 31 meetings, technology demonstrations or other live educational events. And BCR staff made 14 presentations at various state, regional and national library conferences. Over 3,100 library workers attended one or more of these activities.

In addition, BCR partnered with the 12 state library agencies in our member states to negotiate an unlimited downlink license for all seven of the College of DuPage library teleconferences. The licenses allowed more than 10,200 people to view the teleconferences free from 187 downlink sites around the region. And several thousand more library staff have viewed recorded videotapes of the teleconference sessions.
