Increase Access to Your Library's eSerials

OCLC recently introduced the new OCLC eSerials Holdings service, an efficient, cost-effective way to add your library’s electronic serials holdings into WorldCat and expose them more widely to your users and staff. The new service can help your ILL staff more efficiently manage requests for electronic serials at no additional charge to your library.

The eSerials Holdings service makes your electronic content more visible and accessible, both to users and to librarians via WorldCat Resource Sharing, OCLC FirstSearch, the new WorldCat search box and the Open WorldCat program.

OCLC has partnered with leading serials management providers EBSCO, Serials Solutions and TDNet to make the process of setting and maintaining holdings for electronic serials in WorldCat as easy and automated as possible. The service is provided at no charge to libraries with holdings in WorldCat, in order to provide more accurate exposure of eSerials holdings.

Whether you work with one of the providers listed above, or submit holdings directly into WorldCat, the service reveals your collection more fully through online search tools and interlibrary loan applications. The eSerials Holdings service effectively helps to bridge the gap between the worlds of print and electronic materials.
