Ovid/SilverPlatter News

Resource of the Month — Each month, Ovid provides users with the opportunity to test drive for free a sampling of its content, tools and services. September's Resource of the Month is Pascal Biomed and Social Policy & Practice, a subset of the Pascal database.

The database organizes the core of world literature on medicine and life sciences in more than 6 million references. It is a unique multi-disciplinary and multi-lingual resource covering 6500-plus major international journals, reports, periodical articles, doctoral dissertations and conference proceedings in all aspects of medical sciences. Go to www.ovid.com/site/products/resource_of_the_month.jsp?top=2&mid=5 for a more complete description and instructions on how to sign up for the free trial.

Database News — Ovid recently released Drugline, a new partner-published database on SilverPlatter.

Drugline originates from answers to complex clinical questions posed by physicians and contains evaluated drug information representing responses from clinical pharmacologists to specific patient cases. Questions cover side effects, teratogenicity, feasibility of nursing by drug-treated mothers, kinetics, drug interactions, pharmacy, therapy and choice of drugs.
