Colorado Academic Library Summit Highlights the New Millennials
Come meet BCR's new emergent technology trainer, Shelly Drumm, at the Colorado Academic Library Summit (CALC), May 31-June 1, Sheraton Denver West, Golden, Colorado. The conference, "Changing Cultures: Collaboration, Social Networking and New Technologies," will focus on how students are changing the way libraries deliver information in the Colorado academic community. Among other relevant presentations, Drumm is scheduled to present "Getting in Touch with the Digital Native."
Drumm's program examines the "digital native" — students who can’t remember a time before the Internet and who are therefore “native speakers” of the language of computers — and how libraries can most effectively deliver the information students want and the guidance they need. Join her on Friday, June 1, 1:45-3 p.m., to discuss podcasts, blogs and more, as well as the time, expertise and energy required of library staff to support these communication venues.
Tables will be set up to share information and literature with conference attendees. Take some time out of your day to visit with the vendors and sponsors of this year's conference. More information on the conference can be found on the CALC conference page on the CLiC (Colorado Library Consortium) Web site.
