EBSCO Text-only Users — Please Note Changes, Enhancements

The EBSCOhost Web interface is now in full 508 compliance. This upgrade to EBSCOhost actually exceeds 508 compliance standards, expanding the accessibility of the research interfaces and enabling visually and physically impaired users to enjoy the features associated with the Web-based version of EBSCOhost. In addition, users with slower Internet connections will realize improved performance, as a result of faster, more efficient EBSCOhost Web page downloads.

EBSCO Text-only users should migrate to the EBSCOhost Web interface as soon as possible now that EBSCO has completed the Web interface enhancement which eliminates the need to use the Text-only feature. As part of the upgrade process, the personalized folder feature will be removed from the Text-only interface in just a few days. However, the Text-only interface (temporary) session folder will continue to be available for collecting Result List items, which can be printed, saved to disk or sent to email addresses, prior to ending an EBSCOhost session. Personalized folder (My EBSCOhost) functionality is available from EBSCOhost.

Please note: Items stored in personalized folders on EBSCO's Text-only interface will automatically be transferred to the EBSCOhost Web interface personalized folders (My EBSCOhost), in order to provide a seamless interface transition. To view your personalized folder, which was automatically transferred, simply access the EBSCOhost Web interface and then log in to your personalized folder account.

For our mobile and PDA customers who use EBSCO Text Only, EBSCOhost Mobile will be launched by the end of calendar year 2007. Text Only (without the personalized folder feature) will remain in place until EBSCOhost Mobile becomes available.
