WorldCat Registry Enhancements and Fixes
OCLC has installed several WorldCat Registry enhancements and bug fixes. Included are updates to profile sharing, edits to library information and OpenURL enhancements.
Profile Sharing — Authorized users can now share a user-friendly, read-only profile page with partners and co-workers. This page can be bookmarked or included in other pages and allows for a secure way to share a profile.
Library Information Edits — OCLC will now automatically update information about your library in the Open WorldCat interface based on the changes in the WorldCat Registry. The changes are available 24 hours after submission for the following links. These links can be viewed in the "Libraries" display tab when your institution has holdings attached to a bibliographic record:
- Library Information link
- Book Catalog Links, including deep links
- Virtual Reference/Ask a Librarian link
- OpenURL Resolver link
OpenURL Page Enhancements — The "Add OpenURL Resolvers" entry page now includes asterisks (*) to denote which fields are required in order to set up "link resolver" servers in your library's WorldCat Registry profile. Select "OpenURL Resolvers" from the sidebar after logging in to access this feature. The IP addresses on this page are now prepopulated from the "Services-IP Addresses" page and can be edited. Upon submitting an edit, a "warning" message is now shown before the edit is made. Data from this page is also now available when downloading your institution's data via XML.
