OCLC Hosting Users Group/Information Sessions at ALA Midwinter

As part of its participation in the ALA Midwinter Conference being held in Philadelphia, January 11-14, OCLC is hosting several informational and users group sessions that cover a wide array of OCLC products and services.

OCLC's participation during the conference includes the following sessions:

  • Connexion Users Group
    Sunday, January 13, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
    The Connexion Users Group Session will provide participants with an update on Connexion and other cataloging products and services. An overview of CONTENTdm and introduction of new Connexion tools related to uploading CONTENTdm data will also be provided. Registration required.
  • OCLC Policies Directory
    Saturday, January 12, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. AND 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
    Attend this session to share your views on what information you need as a user of the Policies Directory and learn of upcoming changes. Also included will be a discussion of upcoming changes to the Policies Directory that impact the WorldCat Registry. Registration required by sending email to stephenk@oclc.org by January 7.
  • WorldCat Registry Users Group
    Monday, January 14, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.
    An overview of the WorldCat Registry and its goals will be provided. Registration required by sending email to stephenk@oclc.org by January 7.
  • Enhance Sharing Session
    Friday, January 11, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
    The Enhance Sharing session is intended to be a forum for questions and answers and for the exchange of information concerning OCLC's Enhance program. OCLC members who are current Enhance participants will find it most useful, but those who are thinking of applying for Enhance may also be interested. Documentation on Enhance is located at OCLC's WorldCat Documentation page under Enhance. Registration not required, but encouraged.
  • WorldCat Selection
    Saturday, January 12, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
    An overview and update on WorldCat Selection will be provided. The discussion will also include a vendor perspective and a library implementation. Registration required.

If you miss out on a session, OCLC will also be demonstrating and discussing many OCLC services in their booth #1543.

For sessions that require or encourage registration, please register on the OCLC Web site no later than January 7, 2008. OCLC may also announce additional sessions for other products and services in the near future.
