December WorldCat Selection Enhancements
OCLC installed several enhancements to the WorldCat Selection Service on December 9. OCLC's WorldCat Selection allows selectors of new materials at your library to view notification records from multiple materials vendors in one central comprehensive system.
In addition to improving system response time, other enhancements include:
- New FirstSearch Link — Selectors can now click a link to display the WorldCat record in FirstSearch. This option must be set by your Administrator.
- Automatic List Displays — If a folder includes over 1000 records, the system displays the newest 1000 records in the folder. Previously, the oldest 1000 records were displayed.
- Automatic Deletion of Records — Records in the Rejected folder will now be deleted from the system after 14 days if all selectors have taken action on the record.
- Duplicate Notification of Records — Under Administration, My Institution, administrators can turn on an option to automatically remove duplicate notification records for all selectors.
