New OverDrive Feature Increases Digital Title Circulation

OverDrive has implemented a new feature sure to help your library increase its digital title circulation. Holds Manager is a new helping hand from Content Reserve that automatically monitors and fills holds. An easy-to-use program, the Holds Manager plan allows you to set a holds ratio and a monthly budget, select the frequency when holds will be filled and set maximum title limits.

Holds Manager is located under the Collection tab in Content Reserve. Follow these steps on how to set up your own plan with Holds Manager:

  • Log into Content Reserve: https://secure.contentreserve.com/Login.asp
  • Choose the Collection tab (at top).
  • Next, select Holds Manager. This page displays a list of criteria for you to populate. Choose to use either a Hold Ratio or the Number of Holds, and enter a number.
  • Select how often you'd like the Holds Manager to run.
  • Enter the date on which you'd like Holds Manager to run for the first time.
  • Enter an optional Purchase Order Display Name, which will be applied to the purchase order that's created by Holds Manager.
  • Enter an optional Internal Purchase Order ID, which will be applied to the purchase order that's created by Holds Manager.
  • Enter the maximum amount that Holds Manager may spend monthly.
  • Enter the maximum copies (of a title) permitted in your collection.
  • Once you have completed the required fields, click Save Order, and a confirmation screen will appear. Once you are satisfied with your Holds Manager specifications, click Save Order again.
