Launched in November, Islamic Studies Online provides users with an exceptional array of information, regularly updated, including the content from Oxford's 2008 publication, Encyclopedia of the Islamic World. Also included is content from The Oxford Encyclopedia of the Modern Islamic World; The Islamic World: Past and Present; The Oxford History of Islam; and The Oxford Dictionary of Islam.

The database offers diverse learning resources designed to aid both researchers and teachers, giving users access to timelines; visual sources such as maps, illustrations and demographic charts; links to authoritative Web sites; and a glossary of terms and concepts pertinent to this collection's topics, to name a few of the specifics available.
