OvidSP Platform Enhancements Include MARC Record Download

Ovid has completed a number of enhancements to its OvidSP platform, giving users the ability to download MARC records, export search result annotations, access non-English translations, and more.

Users will be happy to discover that MARC records will now be available for download for any journal or book subscription from the Browse Books and Browse Journals pages, just by selecting Download MARC Records and following the wizard instructions.

Additional enhancements include:

  • Annotation Expert — instantly export search result annotations to standard bibliographic managers such as RefWorks.
  • Search Screen position — the search screen will no longer immediately "jump" search results to the top of the page, and the search box now appears above the results.
  • Results Manager enhancements — users will no longer need to scroll to the top of the Results Manager to access Actions as this now appears at the bottom of the page.
  • Remove Duplicates — this button has been moved outside the Search History box.
  • Inline Abstract Navigation — provides improved functionality and usability.
  • Non-English Translations — French, German and Spanish interfaces are available. A non-English interface can be viewed from either the Database Selection page or the Main Search page.

Visit the OvidSP resources webpage for additional details. For questions or subscription information, visit the BCR website or contact BCR's Maura Dunn (mdunn@bcr.org).
