Texas Resource Sharing Study Released
BCR was commissioned by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) in July 2007 to complete a comprehensive study of interlibrary loan services subsidized by the Commission. The final report, Texas Resource Sharing: Examining the Present, Envisioning a Vibrant Future, has been posted on the TSLAC website.
A team from BCR, including President and CEO Brenda Bailey-Hainer, Member Services Librarian Heather Clark and Consultant Lynn Taylor, joined with consulting partners, CIVICTechnologies and Your Perceptions, to complete the project.
The project included a literature review and overview of current ILL studies and best practices, a workflow analysis of current regional operations with recommendations for improvement, an analysis of patron needs, a survey of staff perceptions and an examination of options for future resource sharing models.
