ALASKA
Linda Thibodeau has been appointed the state librarian and director of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums of the State of Alaska. Thibodeau currently sits on the BCR Board of Trustees as the Alaska State Library representative. She replaces Kathryn H. Shelton, who retired October 31, after a long and distinguished career in the library community.

COLORADO
Douglas County Public Libraries announced that Associate Director of Research and Collections Rochelle Logan, is the new president-elect for the Colorado Association of Libraries (CAL).

Teri R. Switzer is the new dean of the Kraemer Family Library at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

The Colorado State Library announced that Shelley Walchak is now senior consultant for Library Community Programs. Previously she worked as a regional consultant and director of continuing education for the Colorado Library Consortium (CLiC).

David Farnan has been named the new associate director of community services for the Douglas County Libraries. He comes to Colorado from the Cleveland Heights-University Heights (OH) Public Library.

The City of Boulder has appointed Tony Tallent as library director to its four-branch system. He comes to Colorado from the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenberg County, North Carolina.

IDAHO
Daniel W. Lester, head, library network services, Albertsons Library, Boise State University , retired at the end of October after 18 years of service to the university and the Idaho library community.

IOWA
The Iowa State Library welcomed Scott Dermont, its new Library Development Consultant. Previously he was at the Ames Public library in various capacities, and earned his MLIS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

KANSAS
Robin Brooks Clark is the new library manager at the Turner Community Library, Kansas City (KS). She most recently was a public services specialist at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library.

Lynn Holloway is the new library director of the Augusta Public Library. She has worked as a librarian in Kansas, Florida, California, Swaziland and Germany.

Johnson County Library has promoted Jennifer Mahnken to the position of associate director for branch services and David Hanson to system-wide services manager.

MONTANA
Rene Tanner has joined the Montana State University reference team in Bozeman.

The new youth services librarian at the Bitterroot Public Library, Hamilton, is Sally Blevins.

UTAH
Jean P. Shipman has been appointed director of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library, University of Utah. She replaces Wayne J. Peay, director from 1984 to 2007.

The Utah State Library Division welcomed Sue Ludington as its new youth services coordinator/consultant in September.

WASHINGTON
Michele Leininger, State Library of Iowa continuing education consultant, has accepted the position of information experience director with the Pierce County Library System, Tacoma.
