BCR, AASLH Present Digitizing Audio Collections Workshop

BCR's digital initiatives consultant, Leigh Grinstead, and the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) are presenting an AASLH workshop, Digitizing Audio Collections, July 22-24, in St. Louis, Missouri. This is a unique opportunity for cultural heritage professionals to experience three days of in-depth training focusing on the how, why and what of digitizing audio artifacts.

Learn about planning for a digital audio project, including how to implement best practices and what you need to know about metadata practices and policies. Share a hands-on experience with your colleagues while participating in demonstrations and working in teams to create metadata records. Come away with resources and examples to help begin the process of planning for a digital audio project at your own library, historical society, museum or special collections archive.

Pricing for the workshop is $200 for AASLH members and $265 for nonmembers.

Register today at the AASLH website. For additional information, send an email to AASLH Program Associate Bethany Hawkins (Hawkins@aaslh.org) or call her at (615) 320-3203.
